AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School Marks the Beginning of the 2026–2027 Academic Year

The 2026–2027 academic year commenced at the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School on August 19, 2026 with a special ceremony.

Held in a warm and uplifting atmosphere of faith and education, the school welcomed His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, accompanied by Rev. Archpriest Shnork Demirjian, Pastor of St. Peter Armenian Church, and Rev. Fr. Gevork Abyan, Assistant Pastor.

During the ceremony, the Primate offered his blessing and words of encouragement to the members of the Board of Trustees, school administration, teachers, parents, and students as they embarked upon a new academic year. In his remarks, Archbishop Derderian emphasized the vital importance of education, particularly in preserving our national and spiritual identity and transmitting these treasured values to future generations.

The Archbishop’s message was also one of encouragement and hope for the students, urging them to approach their studies with diligence, responsibility, and purpose, while striving to live lives marked by kindness, integrity, and faithfulness to God. He emphasized that a school is not merely a place where students acquire knowledge, but also an environment where character is formed, a sense of responsibility is cultivated, and a lasting connection to faith, the Church, and our national heritage is developed. Archbishop Derderian extended his blessing to all those who, through their service and dedication, participate in the sacred mission of nurturing and shaping the new generation of Armenians.

The beginning of the new academic year was also an opportunity to recognize the devoted service of the teachers and the essential role of parents in the education and formation of their children. It served as a meaningful reminder that education and faith together shape a strong, conscious, and values-centered generation.

The school is not simply a place for the transmission of knowledge, but a nurturing environment where our children learn to love God, their families, their Church, their language, and their culture, while developing a sense of responsibility to serve their people and community.
