On October 26, His Holiness presided over the blessing and dedication of the new wing of the Assisted Living Facility (ALF) of Ararat Home of Los Angeles in Mission Hills. Present at the service were Diocesan clergy, Ararat Home board members, nurses and residents alike. His Holiness visited the residents and extended his pontifical blessings to the elderly of the community.
In his remarks, Mr. Michael Surmeian, Chairman of the Ararat Home Board of Trustees conveyed his wholehearted gratitude to His Holiness for the gracious and historic visit to the organization which provides compassionate care to more than 350 residents.
Remarks were also made by Mr. Derik Ghookasian, Chief Operating Officer of Ararat Home and Joseph Kanimian, Esq., Chairman of the Diocesan Council and former Chairman of Ararat Home’s Board of Trustees.
In his remarks, the Primate welcomed the Catholicos of All Armenians, expressing his deep appreciation for the Pontiff’s keen respect for the elderly of the community. “We are indeed humbled by Your Holiness’ second visit to Ararat Home which enlightens the hearts of the residents and staff alike,” said Archbishop Derderian.
