The Alfred and Marguerite Hovsepian School joyfully welcomed students and families back to campus on September 1, marking the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year. The first day brought the excitement of reunions with teachers and classmates and the anticipation of a year filled with learning, growth, and new beginnings.
The morning began with prayer and blessings at St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church, where His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Diocesan Primate, offered a special homily to the students. He encouraged them to remain steadfast and dedicated in their academic studies while emphasizing their sacred responsibility to preserve and carry forward the Christian faith and Armenian heritage entrusted to them by their ancestors.
Following the service, students returned to campus in a touching expression of the Hovsepian family spirit. Eighth graders walked hand in hand with kindergarteners, bringing together the youngest and oldest students as they began the new school year together.
For students, the first day carries a particularly special sense of excitement as they prepare to embark on a new chapter in their life's journey. With great enthusiasm, the students looked forward to the opportunities, friendships, and discoveries that await them.
With prayer as its foundation and faith at its heart, Hovsepian School begins the new academic year with hope and joy, committed to nurturing students in knowledge, character, and the enduring values of their Armenian Christian heritage.
