Western Diocese Welcomes Former Ny Mayor Rudy Giuliani

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America had the distinct honor of welcoming the Honorable Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York and Dr. Maria Ryan on their first visit to the Diocese and to the largest Armenian-American community outside the Republic of Armenia. His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian warmly received the distinguished guests, expressing the heartfelt gratitude of the clergy and faithful for their enduring friendship, steadfast support of the Armenian people, and unwavering commitment to justice, truth, and the remembrance of the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide. During their visit, Archbishop Derderian solemnly consecrated a sacred khachkar dedicated to the memory of the late Charles Magarian, a lasting symbol of faith, remembrance, and hope. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the esteemed guests in the Hampar Room of the Diocesan Headquarters under the patronage of Diocesan benefactor Dr. Aramais Paronyan.
