“To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
(Romans 8։6)
The real struggle of human life often takes place not in the outside world, but within the heart and mind. Every day we are faced with a choice: shall we live by following only our earthly desires, or shall we be guided by the light of the Spirit of God?
A worldly mindset is a way of life in which a person focuses only on temporary and earthly things. Such a person lives for personal desires, interests, and passing pleasures. At first, this path may seem easy and attractive, but in the end it leaves the heart empty. No matter how many material blessings a person gains, if their soul is far from God, they cannot find true peace.
These words are especially relevant in our time. The world constantly teaches us to have more, achieve more, and enjoy more. Yet in the midst of all this, people often lose what is most precious—the peace of their souls. We see many people who have success, comfort, and opportunities, yet at the same time live with anxiety, loneliness, and inner emptiness.
But the spiritual mindset is life and peace. When a person gives God a place in their heart, their life begins to change. They learn to love, forgive, be patient, and trust in God. A spiritual person is not someone who is free from difficulties, but someone who is able to keep inner peace even in the midst of hardships, because they know that God is with them.
The peace that the world gives is temporary, but the peace that God gives lives in the human heart and remains even during times of trial. That is why Paul the Apostle calls us to choose the spiritual path, because it is the path that leads to true life.
Therefore, let us renew our minds, our hearts, and our way of life each day through the Word of God and prayer, and may our lives be filled with the peace that only the Lord can give.
