St. Sarkis Armenian Saturday School Celebrates Heritage, Achievement, and Graduation at End-of-Year Recital

On May 16, 2026, St. Sarkis Armenian Saturday School joyfully celebrated its End-of-the-Year Recital, an evening dedicated to honoring the achievements of its students while reaffirming the beauty of Armenian heritage, faith, and cultural identity. Families, faculty, and friends gathered for a memorable program filled with music, poetry, dance, and presentations that reflected the students’ dedication throughout the academic year.

The evening commenced with the Kindergarten students delighting the audience through charming poems and songs, followed by the first-grade students who creatively introduced the Armenian alphabet through music and performance. Second-grade students offered a heartfelt tribute to the Armenian Army, expressing gratitude and patriotism through their presentation. Students in grades three through seven further enriched the program by showcasing various aspects of Armenian culture and history, including the traditional Armenian taraz, the mountains, rivers, and lakes of Armenia, handcrafted Armenian churches, and Armenian monuments across the United States.

A special highlight of the evening was the performance of two beloved traditional Armenian dances: “Kochari,” performed by the boys, and “Nazani,” gracefully presented by the girls. The dances were beautifully choreographed under the direction of the SCV Armenian Dance Academy, adding vibrancy and elegance to the celebration.

The recital concluded with a moving group performance celebrating Armenian pride and unity, followed by the graduation ceremony of the seventh-grade students. The graduates shared heartfelt reflections and proudly received their diplomas, marking an important milestone in their educational and cultural journey.

The evening stood as a beautiful testament to the enduring spirit of Armenian education and community life, leaving students, families, and guests with cherished memories and renewed appreciation for the rich legacy being passed on to future generations.
