The 5th Annual Reclaim Conference of the Western Diocese, organized under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, is scheduled to take place as a virtual event on March 6, 2021 with worldwide participation.
2021 Topic: Reclaiming Faith in a Post-Pandemic World
We are living in a world troubled by the COVID19 pandemic. We can define our lives in terms of pre-pandemic and post-pandemic times, and so, it is easy to look at those changes as events rather than processes, such as the wearing of masks, social-distancing, vaccinations, etc. On the other hand, it is difficult to assess the changes, whether they impact our lives positively or negatively, that are the by-products of the pandemic. For instance, because of physical restrictions caused by the pandemic, communities are being redefined, loneliness and therefore cases of depression are on the rise, and family ties are strained as death is experienced in isolation.
Furthermore, in the midst of pandemic, the world and Armenians in particular, experience immense hardships: The War in Artsakh, race relations stressed and dysfunctional politics.
With speakers, panel discussions and presentations, the Reclaim Conference, will focus on how to reclaim and embrace faith in the post-pandemic era.
Reclaim 2021 is open to all ages. Deacons, Bridging Generations, Young Adults, ACYO member will particularly benefit from this program. Timed to accommodate people in multiple time-zones.
