AUA's SUMMER PROGRAM: BUILD A GLOBAL NETWORK AND RECONNECT WITH THE MOTHERLAND

On January 25, 2018, a presentation on the mission and vision of the American University of Armenia (AUA) was held in the Hampar Family Room of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. In a panel discussion, AUA President Dr. Armen Der Kiureghian, UCLA Lecturer at the Narekatsi Chair of Armenian Studies Dr. Anahid Aramouni Keshishian and AUA Summer Program participant Galy Kouyumjian presented the benefits and advantages of AUA’s Summer Program in advancing the students’ skills in the diaspora, building their global network and allowing them to reconnect with their homeland.

In his remarks, Dr. Der Kiureghian expressed his wholehearted gratitude to the benefactors of the Western Diocese-funded scholarships in helping build the future of Armenia. The biographies of the aforementioned scholarship recipients were highlighted in a Powerpoint presentation made by Dr. Der Kiureghian.

In his remarks, the Diocesan Primate thanked his esteemed guests and commended the invaluable mission of the AUA in molding the future leaders of Armenia. His Eminence committed his full-fledged support of the outstanding mission of the AUA, noting the importance of higher education in the overall advancement of society.
