St. Paul Armenian Church’s Saturday School of Celebrates a Quarter Century

The Saturday School of St. Paul Armenian Church celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The Diocesan Primate, accompanied by His Grace Bishop Datev Hagopian, Primate of the Romanian Diocese of the Armenian Church travelled to Fresno to celebrate the milestone in the life of the parish.

Also taking part in the celebratory banquet were the Very Rev. Fr. Sasoon Dz. V. Zumrookhdian and Archpriest Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian, Pastor of the neighboring St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yettem.

In his remarks, The Rev. Fr. Yessai Bedros, Pastor of the host parish welcomed the high-ranking clergy and guests, noting the dedicated service of the Saturday School administrative and teaching staff as well as the commitment to the preservation of the Armenian language of both the parents and students of the Saturday School.

In recognition of her resolute leadership, the Saturday School Principal Mrs. Margaret Dumanyan was honored by the Diocesan Primate with the prestigious Archbishop’s Award. The Children’s Choir teacher Mrs. Ani Mikayelyan and long-time supporter and parishioner of St. Paul Armenian Church Mr. Ovanes Kutnerian were also recognized by the Primate with the Diocesan Hye Spirit Award.

In his remarks, the Diocesan Primate commended the honorees and encouraged them to continue their humble and gracious service to the Armenian Apostolic Church with renewed dedication and zeal.

To the delight of their audience, the Saturday School students performed songs and offered recitations.
