Published - 2 September 2016

The Armenian Society of Los Angeles marked its 60th Anniversary with a gala at the organization’s headquarters in Glendale. The Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian attended the celebratory event accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan.

In a special ceremony, the Center was officially dedicated in honor of benefactors Dr. and Mrs. Agop and Ludovica Aintablian. With the participation of the clergy, the “Sinan and Angele Sinanian Main Lobby,” “Audrey and Vaughn Gregor Library and Conference Rooms,” and “Galust Babakhanian and Family VIP and Reading Room” were also dedicated during the evening.

In his delivery of the Invocation, the Primate noted the contributions of the Armenian Society of Los Angeles. “The Armenian Society of Los Angeles truly has been an organization with a firm vision to serve the community with noble aspirations,” said Archbishop Derderian in part. His Eminence also congratulated the benefactors, the Board of Trustees and the organizers of the gala.

Established in 1956 as a non-profit cultural organization, the Armenian Society of Los Angles presently has over 1,500 active members. The organization is involved in cultural, humanitarian and educational activities which are centralized in the Center headquartered in Glendale, California.
