The 2026 survivors’ walk is a solemn 15 mile trek through the California desert in silence followed by an evening together at an AirBNB for reflection, prayer, and fellowship. The next morning, we will all join in celebration of the divine liturgy at Holy Apostles Armenian Church of Tujunga. The purpose of the walk is to remember those who suffered death marches in the Syrian desert during the Armenian Genocide. Participants pledge to spread awareness of what was lost, what is at risk, and what we can do to grow in our faith. To join the walk, each participant must raise a minimum of $1,000. Proceeds will fund this year’s CYMA service project.
