
The Annual Banquet of St. Andrew Armenian Church of Cupertino was graciously held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese. The evening added significance as the parish joyfully commemorated the 35th anniversary of Archbishop Derderian's ordination into the episcopate.
With deep reverence and filial devotion, the faithful expressed their heartfelt gratitude to His Eminence for his steadfast pastoral leadership, unwavering dedication, and abiding love for the Church. The remarkable growth and vitality of the Diocese—reflected in its spiritual, educational, and organizational initiatives—stood as a testament to his visionary guidance and tireless service. United in prayer and thanksgiving, the parish offered its respectful love to Archbishop Derderian, wishing him many more years of fruitful ministry for the glory of our Mother Church and the enduring strength of our nation.


On this festive occasion, several devoted individuals and groups were recognized for their exemplary service and commitment:

David Kostanyan — honored as a young member of the community whose exceptional dedication and spirit of service inspire his peers.

The Members of the Social Club — acknowledged for their meaningful programs that foster fellowship and strengthen the bonds of community life.

The Barsumian Family — recognized as the Exemplary Church Family of the Year 2025, reflecting a model of faith, unity, and devotion.

Mrs. Anna Mkhitaryan — awarded the Armenian Diocese’s Distinguished Medal by His Eminence in recognition of her outstanding service within the Cultural Organization.

Nana Knight, Esq. — commended for her faithful service on the Parish Council and her steadfast commitment to safeguarding the legal rights of the Church.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the honorees and pray that Almighty God abundantly bless them and their families.
The festive spirit continued into Sunday, harmoniously blending with the prayers of a large gathering of faithful during the Divine Liturgy. Representatives of the parish’s various organizations were present, demonstrating the unity and vibrancy of the community. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence offered words of encouragement to the children and youth, exhorting them to remain steadfast in their faith, pure in heart, and devoted in love for their Motherland.











On the occasion of this pastoral visit, and at the request of the parish priest Archpriest Fr. Datev Harutyunyan, His Eminence recognized the many years of faithful and distinguished service rendered by Deacon Levon Barsoumian to St. Andrew Armenian Church. In appreciation of his dedication, His Eminence elevated him to the rank of Archdeacon. The parish family expresses its profound gratitude to our caring Primate and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Archdeacon Levon Barsoumian, praying that the Lord grant him continued strength and grace in his sacred ministry.
