Published - 20 March 2024

On March 20, 2024 the 8th grade students of the St. Gregory A & M Hovsepian School of Pasadena visited the Ararat Convalescent Hospital in Eagle Rock. Shushan Gezalian of the Ararat Convalescent Hospital staff warmly welcomed the students, parents and staff. The group was led by Baron Shahe Mankerian, Principal, and Coach Sako Karaoghlanian.

The students recited the poems “Ari Nor Dari” by Barouyr Sevag and “Berd Par” by Yuri Sahakyan and sang the songs “Hemi Yel Lrenk” and “Paregentan” to the delight of the residents. Rev. Fr. Zaven Arzoumanian, former pastor of St. Gregory Armenian Church of Pasadena and an interim resident at the Ararat Convalescent Hospital, reminisced about his time teaching at the Hovsepian School with the students. He also explained the significance of Holy Week to the students. The visit concluded with a prayer by Fr. Zaven.
