The Western Diocese has been receiving outpouring of support from the faith community as they stand in solidarity with Artsakh and its right to live freely in their ancestral homeland.
Church leaders Metropolitan Serapion of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles and Metropolitan Gerasimos of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco have reached out to the Diocesan Primate informing Archbishop Derderian that prayers for Artsakh are being held within their respective communities.
Led by Cor-Bishop Father George Bet Rasho, the faithful of the Catholic Assyrian Church of the East took part in the evening prayer service at St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral on Friday, October 2, 2020. They were welcomed by the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and the reverend clergy.
Participating in the service, the faithful held up posters displaying unity with the Armenian and Assyrian flags held in a fist with the words “WE STAND WITH ARMENIA.”
His Eminence Archbishop Derderian expressed his gratitude to Cor-Bishop Father George Bet Rasho for the show of solidarity and the Assyrian community’s pursuit of justice.
