Video conferences have become the new norm at the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. Diocesan Council, ACYO and clergy meetings which are held routinely via video conferencing.
On April 28, 2020, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian presided over a meeting of the clergy of the Northern Region of the Western Diocese. During this meeting, organized by Archpriest Rev. Fr. Datev Harutyunian, each parish priest gave a report of the status of their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Eminence, during his remarks, encouraged the clergymen to remain steadfast in their ministries and to continue their excellent service for the sake of their faithful. He also asked them to set their eyes on the future when the church will re-open its doors once again to the people, and to work diligently in the meantime to engage all aspects of community so that it is even stronger and more vibrant when that day comes.
In addition to Fr. Datev, participating in the meeting were Rev. Fr. Vazgen Boyajian, Parish Priest of Holy Resurrection Church in Seattle, Washington; Rev. Fr. Mashdots Keshishian, Parish Priest of St. Kevork in Portland, Oregon; Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Kshachikyan, Parish Priest of St. James in Sacramento; Rev. Fr. Krikor Zakaryan, Parish Priest of St. Vartan in Oakland; and Rev. Fr. Mesrop Ash, Parish Priest of St. John in San Francisco.
