On the occasion of the recommencement of the 2019-2020 academic year, the Diocesan Primate visited the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian and the AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Schools on August 21 and 22, respectively. 

On the Wednesday morning, the Primate, accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian and Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian participated in the Back to School Opening Ceremony of AGBU MDS. Special guests in attendance included Benefactors Sarkis & Seta Demirdjian, Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, AGBU Trustee Sinan Sinanian, School Board Chairman Kevork Zoryan, and members of the school board.

Principal Avanesian, Chairman Zoryan, and Archbishop Derderian all welcomed our community back to school and Council Member Bob Bloomenfield presented our school with a certificate of recognition and officially declared the school open.

On the following day, the Primate, participated in the Opening Day ceremony at the AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian School.

In his message, Archbishop Derderian encouraged the students, teachers and parents alike to further solidify the already strong bond between the schools and the Armenian Church.
