Easter Sunday Tragedy in Sri Lanka
Published - 22 April 2019

We were deeply saddened to learn about the tragic death of 290 of our brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka who perished on Easter Sunday. Hundreds more have been injured as a result of the horrific acts.

The tragic news of this horrific act on Easter Sunday, in many ways shattered our spirituality and left us in deep pain and mourning.

One thing is certain, when we deprive ourselves from the presence of God we no longer are able to fulfill God’s will.

God, the Creator of the world, calls on us all to love one another, to have utmost respect for all. We pray especially for the departing souls and their siblings. May the victims rest in peace and may the Good Lord strengthen their beloved ones in this time of despair. In his Epistle to the Corinthians, St. Paul writes to unite as one body of Christ “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” (1 Cor. 12:26)

We are with you in prayer and in spirit.
