On February 24, 2019, the parishioners of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys received the episcopal blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Diocesan Primate, who celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon. Assisting Archbishop Derderian at the Holy Altar were Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian, Pastor of the host parish and the Deacons of St. Peter Armenian Church.
During the service, the Primate performed the traditional blessing of the madagh which was distributed to the faithful.
At the subsequent banquet which followed the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the following volunteers of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys were honored for their selfless service within their respective committee.

Each of the volunteers received with Certificates of Recognition and Appreciation.
The Primate commended the dedicated service of the volunteers and encouraged them to renew their calling to service with a zealous Christian spirit. "Your loyalty to the Armenian Church and your resolute spirit defines your Christian character. Thus, through the workings of the Holy Spirit in your hearts and souls, you have become the radiating light of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in your community," said Archbishop Derderian.
