As the 2025 HyeCamp season drew to a close, campers departed with hearts full of gratitude and memories destined to last a lifetime. Over the course of the summer, the campgrounds echoed with laughter, prayer, and the joyful energy of young people immersed in nature and Armenian Christian fellowship. Days were filled with worship services, engaging activities, and meaningful conversations, all fostering a deeper connection to faith, heritage, and community. The friendships formed during these precious weeks will continue to be cherished long after the final goodbyes.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the Diocesan Priamte Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, visited the camp. Accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, Pastor of Holy Apostles Armenian Church of Crescenta Valley, Srpazan joined the campers in the religious lesson conducted by this week’s chaplain, the Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Ksachikyan, who was assisted by St. Nersess Seminarian Shane Janian. Following the lesson, Archbishop Derderian met personally with the campers, offering words of encouragement, and joined them in breaking bread, sharing in the spirit of fellowship that defines HyeCamp. His visit left an indelible mark on this year’s program, inspiring campers and counselors alike.
Reflecting on the season, it was evident that HyeCamp offered more than just a summer getaway. It became a place where young hearts grew closer to Christ and to each other. The bonds forged in shared experiences, from evening campfires to heartfelt discussions, will continue to inspire and strengthen the faith of the participants. This year’s farewell was filled with extra anticipation, as the camp looks ahead to its 60th anniversary, a milestone celebration in September. As the summer sun set on another HyeCamp season, the campers carried with them not only treasured memories but also the hope of reuniting next year to build upon this vibrant legacy.
