On July 27, 2025, (Week 3 of HyeCamp) the Diocesan Primate visited the campers in Dunlap, California, where he conveyed to them his pastoral message on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ, our Lord (Vardavar).
Below is the Primate's message in its entirety.
Beloved campers,
This is a message that stirs the depths of our hearts, a divine calling first spoken to the disciples on the holy mountain: “Listen to Him.” Today, that sacred invitation is extended to each of us. The voice of God continues to echo through time, gently yet powerfully urging us to open our souls and draw near to His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, not only in word, but in spirit and in action.
Here, in the serene and sanctified setting of our campgrounds, we are blessed with a unique opportunity: to live in fellowship, to pray in unity, and to grow in grace through Christian friendship. But these gifts are fully revealed when we walk our earthly pilgrimage hand in hand with our Creator, aligning our hearts with the divine message and allowing it to shape our every thought, word, and deed.
So I say to you, dear campers: Listen to Christ. Let your hearts be filled with His love, illumined by His wisdom, and strengthened by His presence. For to walk with Christ is to ascend the holy mountain of faith, where our souls are transfigured and our lives become radiant with the light of the Gospel.
May this week be your sacred ascent, your own Mount Tabor, where heaven touches earth and the voice of God awakens your spirit to the glory of life in Him.
