On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the Primate took part in a Zoom video conference with the members of the Ladies Society Central Council (LSCC) of the Western Diocese. The ladies shared their insight, exchanged thoughts and ideas, and offered feedback about the previous week's video conference in which more than 25 chairladies from various Ladies Society chapters of the Western Diocese participated.
The ladies society is preparing for an assembly on Thursday, July 16th which will be held via video conference. The assembly's keynote speaker will be a guest clergyman from Armenia. The assembly information and all related details will be communicated by the LSCC to ladies society members of Diocesan parishes who are strongly encouraged to participate in the unique assembly.
Emphasis was placed on the formation of Ladies Society mission chapters within mission parishes across the Diocese. Subsequent details in this regard were exchanged to proceed with the mission at hand.
Another topic on the agenda was one of pilgrimages. On September 13, 2020, on the occasion of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Ladies Society Central Council will organize a pilgrimage to St. Mary Armenian Church of Yettem. Details about the pilgrimage will be communicated to ladies society chapters in due time.
Routinely visiting parishes, the LSCC holds regular meetings with ladies societies throughout the year. The LSCC will begin to hold regional meetings with the participation of ladies society chapters of the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest (Portland and Seattle), Central California, Southern California and the parishes of Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Costa Mesa, San Diego and Rancho Mirage.
Commending the role of ladies societies within the mission of the Church, the Primate encouraged ladies to redefine the role of ladies society chapters by engaging in community-related projects.
