Published - 2 July 2020

On June 26, 2020, The Diocesan Primate took part in the graduation ceremony  addressed the graduating class of Alfred and Marguerite Hovsepian School of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Pasadena. In the church sanctuary, Archbishop Derderian delivered his heartfelt remarks, wherein he expressed his wholehearted gratitude to Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, the Parish Priest for instilling in the hearts of the students, the love and adherence to the Word of God. Archbishop Derderian also commended the school's principal Mr. Shahe Mankerian and the teachers for their steadfastness and commitment to educational excellence. Words of gratitude were also expressed to Mrs. Yeran Melelian, Chair of School's Board of Trustees for their vision of preserving the Armenian Christian identity and educating the future leaders of our community.

Archbishop Derderian's address to the students was one of encouragement. His Eminence called upon the youth to live the Christian Faith wholesomely, adhering and remaining loyal to the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the sacred traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Primate also encouraged the youth to cherish the Armenian spirit of kindness, humility, generosity, and benevolence. Lastly, he reminded the youth to set out on a quest of becoming honorable citizens through their noble deeds and exemplary achievements.
