The Ladies Society of St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral hosted a Russian Tea Party on Friday, November 1, 2019. The event was attended by more than 80 guests who were immersed in the Russian tea-drinking culture.
The Ladies Society had thought of everything including samovars, classic staples of the Russian tea table. As the guests entered the beautifully decorated Hampar Family Room, they were greeted by a melodious Classic Quartet delighting their audience with traditional Russian folk music.
The event commenced with the welcoming message by Mrs. Angela Parseghian, Chair of the Ladies Society. After the delivery of the invocation, the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan introduced Dr. Silva Karayan, one of the esteemed guests, noting her immense contributions in the field of pedagogy and education. Dr. Karayan was presented with a Certificate of Blessing and Commendation from the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian in recognition of her life-long dedication to education.
