On Sunday, August 25, 2019, the faithful of Holy Apostles Armenian Church of La Crescenta received the episcopal blessings of the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian who celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon.

Archbishop Derderian, who was assisted at the Holy Altar by the Pastor of Holy Apostles Armenian Church Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian, granted four minor orders of acolyte to Vachagan Barseghyan, Shant Boghossian, Hakop Sayadyan, Kevork Zanturian, Baruyr Lokmanian, granted the right of stolebearer to Hrair Yeghyaian and ordained Avak Zakarian and Yervand Yazlyan into the Diaconate. Archbishop Derderian congratulated the newly-ordained altar servers, calling upon them to serve Christ, our Lord and the Armenian Apostolic Church with renewed dedication and enduring affection.

Archbishop Derderian also commended the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Fr. Avedis Abovian and the collective vision of all auxiliary bodies of Holy Apostles Armenian Church of La Crescenta to become the radiant light of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the community and to uphold the sacred teachings and traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in the church hall.
