Under the auspices of the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, on October 20, 2017, the Western Diocese hosted a luncheon for the students and faculty of the Armen Tigranyan Music School in the Hampar Family Room.
Days prior, at a concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Western Diocese, the students showcased their talent at the John Wayne Performing Arts Center.
In his welcoming remarks, the Primate commended the school’s principal, vocal teacher and students for their commitment to preserving the Armenian culture. The students performed selections of religious sacred music and folk songs. Archbishop Derderian also expressed his gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Karo and Sirvard Kavoukjian for their relentless support of the Armen Tigranyan Music School and Diocesan missions and his appreciation to Mrs. Alice Chakrian for her leadership in wonderfully organizing the luncheon.
