Primate Leads Good Friday Service at Glendale Memorial Hospital

On Good Friday, April 14, 2017, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and Mexico, presided over a special worship service at Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital.  

Dozens of hospital employees, patients and visitors had gathered for the service which commemorated the crucifixion and burial of Jesus Christ. His Eminence was accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan and Deacon Hayk Tigranyan.

The service was also attended by the Honorable Paula Devine, Mayor of the City of Glendale and Glendale Citycouncilmember the Honorable Zareh Sinanyan.

In his remarks, the Primate expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the important undertaking, marking it the third year of co-operation between the two institutions. He thanked the hospital staff for the compassionate care they continually demonstrate to each patient.

Led by the Primate, the clergy also paid a visit to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit where they prayed for the health of the newborn children.
