Midnight Service and New Year’s Day Divine Liturgy
Published - 6 January 2019

The tradition of ringing in the New Year in the church continued as faithful gathered at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral, the spiritual center of the Western Diocese at 12:30 a.m. to collectively pray and ask for the Lord’s blessings.

The New Year’s Day Divine Liturgy was celebrated at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. with uplifted spirits. With the Diocesan Primate presiding over the service, the day’s celebrant was Archpriest Fr. Manoug Markarian. Prayers of Pontifical Service (Hayrabedagan Maghtank) were held at the conclusion of the service.

Following the service, the Primate and the Diocesan clergy received warm New Year's wishes from the faithful during a light reception at the Hampar Family Room.
